Abstract: The Thai tapioca industry was battling severe drought in early 2005.Tapioca root production has declined from 22 million tones in crop year 2004 to 16 million tones this year. This could result in significantly lower output of tapioca-derived products such as chips and starch from Thailand in 2005.
