Abstract: Biofuels: they are in the European news on a daily basis. Since the EU began to focus on green or renewable energy and biofuels in the early nineties, many important developments have taken place.The most significant was the adoption of an EU directive in 2003 that sets up guidelines for adopting biofuels in all transport fuels used in the EU.
