Abstract: The United States (U.S.), an important market for alcoholic beverages, is the world’s second largest beer market, third largest wine market and fourth largest market for spirits. In 2004, the U.S. accounted for approximately 16 percent, 10 percent and 7 percent of the world’s consumption of beer, wine and spirits, respectively.
