Abstract: The performance of Argentina’s agribusiness industry in 2008 was shaped by a number of developments. On the external side, the industry was favored by increasingly high prices for all agricultural products, but also had to deal with increased costs of land and agricultural inputs, such as fertilizers. On the domestic side, the industry was hit by a severe conflict between farmers and the government, which halted production, sales and exports from March until July.
