Abstract: In the first six months of 2008, cash receipts earned by Canadian farmers rose
12.4 percent to a record CAD 19.9 billion following a 9.6 percent increase in 2007. Crop producers led the way as revenues for grains and oilseeds climbed 30.8 percent to CAD 11 billion — exceeding livestock receipts for the first time in 12 years.
