Abstract: The Australian cattle industry faces a number of challenges in the short-term, including higher input costs, continued dry weather conditions in many areas and pressure on returns in key export markets. Longer-term the prospects for the industry remain positive, with continued growth in global demand and rising costs for competitor proteins expected to support higher beef and cattle prices.
