Abstract: With an estimated 1.7 percent increase relative to 2006, milk production in the
United States (U.S.) was expected to reach a record volume of approximately 185 million pounds in 2007. Greater volumes of milk in the U.S. can be attributed to an improvement in per cow productivity and a relatively small increase in the number of cows being milked.
