Abstract: The United States (U.S.) is one of the world’s largest pistachio producing countries, accounting for approximately 28 percent of global pistachio production. U.S. pistachio production has grown considerably over the past 10 years, increasing from an average of 143 million pounds (in-shell) from 1992 through 1995 to an average of 262 million pounds from 2002 through 2005.
