Abstract: Historically, investments in the agribusiness industry have been largely restricted to agribusiness companies. Slow growth, limited profitability and uncertainty about government regulations tended to restrict investments from new players. With the biofuels boom, this is changing as private investors and companies from other sectors, such as energy, are compelled to invest.
