Abstract: Mexico’s beef sector is important both in the world context and for domestic agribusiness. Beef cattle production represents 24 percent of Mexico’s agricultural gross domestic product (GDP) valued at approximately USD 30 billion. Mexican consumers spend close to 5 percent of their total food budget on beef.
