Abstract: Corn is the most widely produced grain in the United States (U.S.), making up around 27 percent of all crops harvested in 2005. In terms of world production and export, the U.S. has long dominated the global market, and is forecast to account for approximately 40 percent of world production (see Figure 1) and 70 percent of world exports (see Figure 2) in 2006/07. In terms of price and quality, the U.S. corn industry remains extremely competitive on the world market.
