Abstract: Oregon is the world’s leading cool-season forage and turf grass seed producing region, with approximately 60 percent of global production grown in this state alone. Ryegrass, fescue, bluegrass, orchardgrass and bentgrass are among the major varieties of grass seed grown in the state. Depending on the variety, these grass seeds can be utilized in an array of different applications, including pastures, golf courses, lawns, as well as used as a rotation crop.
