Abstract:
Volatility in world markets is a defi ning theme for the global beef industry in 2006. With global trade continuing to be impacted by bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) and foot and mouth disease (FMD), expectations of ongoing recovery in United States (US) beef production, and new domestic policy goals emerging in Argentina as a new impediment to export growth, the picture for Australian beef operators is highly complex.
