Abstract: Income and total population are the key drivers behind global food demand. While income forecasts for the coming decade show higher figures than the past several years, total population is stabilising following a significant decline in the fertility rate offset by the increase in life expectancy. Yet, while some population trends are global, the level of intensity and corresponding impact on consumption varies across countries.
