Abstract: Despite the very difficult conditions currently facing the vegetable industry, Australian vegetable growers continue to make a significant contribution to the rural sector.
The vegetable industry generates an annual production value which is estimated to be in the region ofAUD3.2 billion. This is done from a production base of an estimated 4,300 growers providing employment for 20,000+ individuals across an estimated 7,000+ establishments.
