Abstract: While organic food represents a relatively small proportion of the greater food economy, it is becoming an increasingly popular consumer choice. There are many issues for the industry including the shift of organic food into mainstream food markets, the role of the consumer and media in developing the industry, the presence of price premiums and the continued advocacy of organic for developing nations agrieconomies.
