Abstract: For the 2004 vintage in New Zealand, a total of approximately 165,500 tonnes of grapes were harvested. This is a 39% increase on the previous highest total of 118,700 tonnes in 2002 and a very significant (117%) increase on the frost affected yield of 2003.The harvest will produce just under 120 million litres of wine based on a conversion rate of 720 litres per tonne.
