Abstract: Given Japan's mature economy, with its shrinking and ageing population, and anticipated shrinking of demand volumes, growth seeking Japanese food and beverage companies will face pressure to change their domestic mindset and take the path of increased expansion to markets abroad, internationalising their business portfolios through greenfield and/or brownfield (M&A) expansions.
