Abstract: Corn is the most widely produced grain around the world. For 2004-05, global corn production will surpass wheat and rice production by 9 percent and 38 percent, respectively.
In the United States (U.S.), corn is the major annual crop when comparing planted acreage and total revenues. For the 2004-05 season it is expected that acreage planted to corn will reach 79 million acres producing a record crop of 10.6 billion bushels and farm cash receipts of approximately USD 25 billion.
